**It’s a Both/And World**
One of my favorite sayings is:
“It’s a both/and world; it’s both the way you say it is and the way I say it is.”
Now more than ever, I find myself returning to this wisdom as I navigate the increasingly polarized landscape of our world.
Throughout most of my life, I tended to see things in black and white, holding strong opinions and beliefs while rarely acknowledging the myriad shades of gray. This perspective often led me to pass judgment on opposing points of view.
As I’ve grown older—and perhaps even matured—I have become more open to the possibility that I’m not always right (though I do love being right). Even when I believe I am correct, I’ve learned to be more accepting and understanding of others’ perspectives.
Now, I choose to love and respect people even when I think or know they are wrong, without feeling the need to react or respond to our differences. Most importantly, I’m striving to let go of my tendency to be so judgmental.
Embracing this “both/and” approach has brought a profound sense of peace and connection into my life. It reminds me that understanding and empathy bridge divides far better than insisting on being right ever could, allowing us to find common ground in a world that often feels divided.
My newest favorite saying is “It’s better to be loved than to be right.”
Wishing you love, peace, and happiness,
Arielle
